Teams from all over western Canada and the United States, some returning and some new, gather in Nipawin, Saskatchewan for the Annual Vanity Cup Walleye fishing tournament each October.
The tournament has had 160 teams competed for cash and merchandise totaling more than $300,000. A total of 1202 walleye weighed in throughout the two day tournament that tipped the scales at a total of 2806 pounds.
The Saskatchewan Premier’s Walleye Cup is one of this province’s flagship fishing tournaments and one of the largest walleye events in Canada.
The Premier’s Walleye Cup is a two day, live release tournament, with proceeds going back to the preservation of the lake resources and development of the lake facilities.
