Canada is a land famous for dog sledding and the clubs and races associated with the sport and part of our aboriginal culture.

Many visitors, to these events, are quite surprised that many of the dogs are not traditional huskies (samoyed, siberian and malamute) breeds of dogs associated with racing. In the southern parts of western Canada, or where they are holding sprint races; the dogs are hybrids. These dogs combine the endurance of huskies, with the speed of greyhounds!

The following are a listing of clubs and dog sled races, by province and territory:

British Columbia

Alberta

Saskatchewan

Manitoba

Northern Canada
(Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Yukon)

* Start and finish alternates each year
